1 Scope

This document describes a method for the determination of the acute toxicity to one of three specified species of marine copepod (Copepoda, Crustacea). This document is applicable to:

1. industrial or sewage effluents, treated or untreated, after decantation, filtration or centrifugation if necessary;

2. marine or estuarine waters;

3. aqueous extracts (pore water, elutriates, eluates and leachates) from sediments;

4. chemical substances which are soluble, or which can be maintained as a stable suspension or dispersion, under the conditions of the test.
