BS 7666-2 is the second part of an international standard that deals with the spatial datasets for geographical referencing.
BS 7666-2 specifies the logical data structure for a gazetteer of land and property which provides information for the logical data structure for a gazetteer of land and property, consistent with another part of this standard. It is based upon the concept of a basic land and property unit (BLPU) and specifies the data to be recorded and maintained in a gazetteer.
BS 7666-2 also specifies the way in which the boundary of a BLPU may be represented and linked to the gazetteer.

BS 7666-2:2020 supersedes BS 7666-2:2006, which is withdrawn. These include the following principal changes:

- “Logical status” for BLPU and LPI updated to ‘BLPU logical status’ and ‘address status’ respectively
- The addition of a facility for BLPUs to be associated with the BLPU they were previously part of
