The UK BIM Framework is an overarching approach that helps you to implement information management successfully into your business. The UK BIM Framework sets out the approach for implementing BIM in the UK using the framework for managing information provided by the ISO 19650 series.
What does the IMI Framework (Operation and Maintenance) Solution Pack cover?
All of the core operations and maintenance standards are made available in one Solution Pack which includes:
- ISO 19650-1 - Outlines the concepts and principles and provides recommendations on how to manage building and asset information.
- ISO 19650-3 - Provides information management requirements for the operational phase of the assets.
- ISO 19650-4 - Complements Parts 1, 2, 3 and 5 by setting out an explicit process, with criteria, for individual information exchanges.
- ISO 19650-5 - Provides requirements for the security-minded management of sensitive information within building information modelling (BIM).
- ISO 19650-6 - Is for individuals and organizations that contribute to and influence the procurement, design, construction, use (including maintenance) and end-of-life of building and infrastructure assets.
- BS 8536 - This British Standard promotes the smooth delivery and operation of built assets throughout their lifecycle by maximizing the value that can be derived from information and data.
- BS 8587:2012 - Guide to facility information management provides owners, operators, tenants, facility managers and property managers with guidance and recommendations in regard to the management of information and data concerning the facilities they own and/or operate.
- BS 8544:2013 - Guide for life cycle costing of maintenance during the in use phases of buildings gives guidance and recommendations on undertaking LCC of maintenance during the in-use phases of facilities or constructed assets. BS 8544 covers buildings, systems, assemblies, components, tasks/actions, resources and materials.
- BS EN ISO 41001:2018+A1:2024 - Facility management. Management systems. Requirements with guidance for use is for use by any organization, regardless of sector, size, nature or location that wants to: Establish, implement, maintain and improve an integrated facilities management system; and/or assure itself that it’s conforming with a stated management policy.
