BS EN 485-2:2007 specifies the mechanical properties of wrought aluminium and wrought aluminium alloy sheet, strip and plate for general engineering applications.

BS EN 485-2 is the European standard that specifies the mechanical properties of wrought aluminium and wrought aluminium alloy sheet, strip and plate for general engineering applications.

Contents of BS EN 485-2 contains:

  • Foreword
  • Scope
  • Normative references
  • Requirements
  • List of alloys with mechanical property limits
  • Elongation
  • List of alloys and their mechanical properties
  • Rules for rounding
  • Explanation of temper designations used in Tables 1 to 46 based on definitions of EN 515
  • Bibliography

BS EN 485-2 does not apply to semi-finished rolled products in coiled form to be subjected to further rolling (reroll stock) or to special products such as corrugated, embossed, painted, sheets and strips or to special applications such as aerospace, can stock, finstock, for which mechanical properties are specified in separate European Standards.

  • Normative references
  • Requirements
  • List of alloys with mechanical property limits

    - General

    - Elongation

    - List of alloys and their mechanical properties

The chemical composition limits of the alloys are specified in BS EN 573-3.

BS EN 485-2:2008 replaces BS EN 485-2:2004 which has been withdrawn.

BS EN 485-1:2008 is also available.
